The Ministry of Education is responsible for the development of educational policy to achieve the objectives of national development and the put the plans to develop it , and among the plans chosen by the Ministry and after consultation with the opinion staff was approved a proposal to apply the system of courses for the fourth grade preparatory on the basis of experience in Iraq after the success of the experience in colleges Because it is applied in most neighboring countries and it relieves the burden on the student in time and efforts that he does not have to read the book as a whole and gives him a chance to succeed more and thus create a high motivation for achievement Since the experience is a turning point from the annual system used by the students to the system of courses, which did not used to use it before, which worried students, teachers and parents about the impact of this system on the motivation and achievement of students According to the previous data, the objectives of research were formulated which is: Recognize the motivation for academic achievement for pupils in the fourth preparatory stage of scientific branch who studied in the courses system.

The researcher adopted the scale of khalaf waffaa and it was made of (30) paragraphs and had the alternatives of answer (totally agree-agree-neutral-disagree-totally disagree) and when correction the marks (4-3-21-0) were given to the negative paragraphs and vice versa to the positive paragraphs.

The research sample were selected in a randomly way and it's include (100) pupils from three morning school that affiliated to the new Baghdad center.

And the researcher achieved that the pupils in the fourth scientific preparatory stage studied in the courses system had the motivation to academic achievement.
