Summary: Enforced disappearance is an ancient phenomenon that humanity has known for the logic of power within societies, and also new in modern societies in times of war and armed conflict.

This phenomenon has affected peace and security, resulting in conflicts that often lead to war.

Human rights have also been violated, and humiliated.

Enforced disappearance is a crime against humanity in accordance with the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, and international conventions are essentially a law of protection against it.

In this paper we attempt to demonstrate the legal protection of persons against the crime of enforced disappearance, as well as the international and regional conventions that provided for such protection, and then to address the most important international mechanisms for applying this legal protection.
