The primary purpose that the constitutional founder aimed to achieve through his dedication to the system of parliamentary duplication is to improve legislative and oversight work within Parliament.

Due to the importance brought by the National Assembly and the effectiveness it achieved as an important constitutional institution in the country, this chamber developed, its functions and powers expanded, and the procedures for its operation differed, which is stipulated by the Algerian constitutional founder through Law 16-01 that includes the constitutional amendment of 2016.
