Abstract EN

The press and those in charge of it in Iran enjoyed a kind of relative freedom during the first phase of its life and that movement developed during the years of the constitutional movement, and the confidence and ripeness increased during the years of World War One, as the division among themselves between supporters and opponents of the foreign presence in Iran.

After the end of the First World War, the start of a new phase in the life of the Iranian press was based on singing about the homeland and patriotism, publishing articles and studies concerned with the political and economic reality and tryingto pull the country out of the dire reality in which it was living, so many press offices were established and requests were submitted to the Prime Minister In order to allow the opening of press centers, the trends of these newspapers have varied, including scientific, political, literary, and so on.

However, after the coup in 1921 AD, the Iranian press entered a dark tunnel, which is the authoritarianism of Reza Khan, the Minister of Defense and the Prime Minister after that, and his attempt to subjugate the press to serve his purposes, goals and extremist central policy.

Because of that, Reza Khan pursued a policy of force with his opponents from among the owners of national newspapers, and tried to pass many bills within the dome of Parliament, the aim of which was to subordinate the press to his extremist tendencies and policy.
