The airports are a true pillar to create competitive advantage and value for the economy and maximize the attractiveness of the region, which necessitates the consolidation of this sector by adapting it to the requirements of passengers and all those involved in the air transport sector.

In order to ensure the effectiveness of the system, economic regulation is necessary in order to clearly define a set of elements such as market access, ownership, control and free competition.

In light of the EU Transport Support Project in Algeria, this paper aims at highlighting the policies and legislations governing Algerian airports and how they can be adapted to the rules of competition and the interests of the parties involved.

The establishment of the objectives of the economic regulation of the airport should ensure the establishment of legislative and regulatory measures for airports in Algeria.
