Abstract EN

This study is one of the analytical studies that seeks to distinguish the features of the women image as portrayed by Print Jordanian Newspapers, and the foundations upon which the standards evaluated, using the media survey method, which is one of the main approaches in descriptive and diagnostic studies.

The researcher relied on this approach to be applied on number of press themes that dealt with women's issues during the study period.

The study showed that awareness levels or issues that the Jordanian print newspapers focused on regarding women issues vary of course depending on the editing and nature of the policy, for Ex: liberal newspapers concentrates on women rights while official and semiofficial newspapers tend to be more interested in the issue of empowerment of women and the promotion of gaining right to equality as such issue is considered important in supporting the development processes.

The study showed, however, that women's issues still need more concentration and coverage that highlights the positive role of women and the human dimension of social awareness of women’s roles
