Abstract EN

Ships are aften exposed to maritime perils that necessitate asking for help, and in order to encourage rescuers to come and save these ships, with goods and persons on them, the maritime custom has decided to grant money for rescuers which was called: Salvage Reward.

This dicision was quickly imposed by international and national legislative text.

The Salvage Reward was serronnded with a set of controling conditions that defeat the greed of the reccuers and garantee their merit.

The aim of this research is to shed lights on the legal system to reward Salvage in Algerian maritime law and comparing it withe the international agreements by highlighting its scope and the procedures for claiming it.

At the end of this study we arrived at a number of conclusions including: The consolidation of the idea of subjectivity maritime law in line withe the 1989 London convention which Algeria has joined in 2011, and the creation of special componsation to protect maritime environment.
