Abstract EN

The Language of written media abounds with idiomatic expressions deployed by opinion writers to attract the reader's attention thanks to its morphological, semantic, and deliberative construction possibilities.

The present study will attempt, first, to define and classify some aspects structuring the idiomatic expressions as deployed by Mishaal Alsidiri in his media articles.

Second, it will investigate the hidden dimensions, necessary conditions, and informative potentials of these idiomatic expressions as a persuasive force.

Third, the present study will seek to understand the way idiomatic expressions better maintain the unity and cohesiveness of written media articles throughenriching it with important information and contents.

Since the idiomatic expressions possess a dense rhetorical forefront due to the discrepancy between its literal and contextual meanings, confusions and misinterpretations can occur.

As a consequence, a knowledge of the cultural context as well as of the stationary conditions is necessary for the receiver to give the conventional expression its indications and unlock its signs.
