The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the role of the theory of structural-functionalism in the development of the sociology of organizations.

We have focused our analysis on the importance that this sociological theory represented for the sociologists who approached the study of organizations.

And this first sociological theory in the field of the study of organizations provided these researchers with the theoretical and methodological tools necessary to do these studies.

Consequently, these first sociological analyzes on organizations constituted the bases of the sociology of organizations.
