The present study aims to test the determinants of poverty, to determine the factors that affect it and then the possibility of adopting a strategy determinants.

the study relied on annual data covering the period (1980-2017), and to test the impact of investment in people and economic growth as the main determinants used by most previous studies on poverty in Egypt the study found that investing in human beings through the proportion of students enrolled in primary education in addition to economic growth leads to a rise in per capita consumption expenditure, and then reduce poverty, provided that economic growth leads to an increase in the share of poor the increase in the student-teacher ratio leads to a negative impact on the per capita consumption of final consumption, and therefore high poverty rates, so the need to invest in education through building new schools, especially in areas where schools operate beyond their capacity.
