Abstract EN

This cultural critical approach seeks to investigate the representations of political narrative in Al Jahiz writings in order to unveil the imagined political authority and its representations in his discourse.

It also attempts to expose the influence of doctrinal ideology (Mu’tazalite) on the nature of his contested discourse and narrative disputes in support of the victor’s narratives - the Abbasid political authority.

On the other hand, the approach attempts to expose the opposite narratives of the vanquished through the representations of Bani Umayyah and their political imaginary in his writings.

On the other hand, the representations of Bani Umayyah in al Jahiz writings showed the presence of two discourses: the first is manifested in appropriating history through erasing the memory of the defeated (Bani Umayyah), and in distorting it through political fallacies.

The second was apparent in the implicit and explicit admiration for Bani Umayyah.
