English Abstract

The present research aims to shed light on the concept of university governance as a way of exercising the powers of good governance, embodying the role played by the university in society on a large scale and influential, including the urgent need to monitor and evaluate this role, so the research began from the problem of measuring the extent of perception Academic leaders to understand the implications of good governance more deeply, and to achieve the goal of the research was used analytical method (quantitative) questionnaire as a key tool to collect data from a sample of (55) individuals included academic leaders at the University of Maysan and the number of questionnaires for questionable analysis (45) questionnaire, It was analyzed using the statistical program (SPSS), and the research reached several results, the most important of which showed the existence of a good level of practices in the level of good governance according to the views of academic leaders, especially with regard to the criteria (transparency and accountability), but they were below the level of ambition for the criteria ( Participation and independence ).
