Abstract EN

The contemporaneous Algerian novel had been interested in several themes that it took as representations of cultural data which had been distinctively present in the Algerian reality.

One of these themes is woman as a creature and as a full cultural being who is conscious of his ideological, biological, social and human being.

The image of woman has occupied an important narrative space in the "A country of glass " written by the Algerian novelist Yasmina Saleh in which she presented her own feminist view to the terrorism experience in Algeria during the 90s by using the woman as human being endowed with values and deprived from them in the same time.

Thus the problematic of this research can be: how did the woman neglected her biological class in the novel to celebrate only her existence as value? What aspects does she share with the country? The aim of this research is to define the narrative images represented by woman (as female/human), and the link between those images with the general event and with narrative view of the Algerian reality through the novel.
