Abstract EN

Objectives:The objective of the present research is to develop and validate the COVID-19 Panic Attack Scale among , and determine the levels of panic attacks among some groups of Arab society who suffer from low, medium and severe panic attacks.

Methodology: The scale was administered electronically to a previous cross-cultural sample (under publication) consisting of (2285) participants from Arab countries.

The scale in its final form for the exploratory administration included (62) items, distributed over six dimensions: physical symptoms (13 items), psychological and emotional symptoms (9 items), cognitive and mental symptoms (8 items), social symptoms (6 items), general symptoms (13 items), and the daily practices (living) (13 Items).Data were analyzed using SPSS (26) and LISREL (8.8).

Results: The scale had an appropriate degree of reliability, where the internal consistency stability of the six-dimensional alpha coefficient increased from 0.80, the six-factor model proved a good fit with the sample data.

As for the levels of panic attacks, the study found that the percentage of those who suffer from panic attacks to a severe degree in the Arab society were 25.73%, and there was a statistically significant difference in panic attacks from Corona between males and females in favor of females.

Conclusion: The scale was characterized by an appropriate degree of internal consistency, alpha consistency, and good construct validity, which confirmed the use of the scale in the process of diagnosing panic attacks in educational, clinical and other institutions.
