English Abstract

The current research aimed to get acquainted with the meta-knowledge strategy of the sixth preparatory students and the significance of the differences in the meta-knowledge strategy according to the gender variable (male - female) and the significance of the differences in the meta-knowledge strategy according to the variable of specialization (scientific - literary).

The sample reached (240) male and female students from the sixth preparatory grade in Baghdad governorate, The results of the research reached the sample in general possessing the skills of using metacognitive strategy.

There are statistically significant differences in the metacognitive strategy between the male sample and the female sample in favor of the male sample, And for There are statistically significant differences in knowledge beyond scientific specialization and specialization literary strategy, based on the results developed recommendations and proposals for research.
