English Abstract

This research aims to identify (the effect of cognitive discipline strategy on reading comprehension among fifth-grade primary students), and to achieve the goal of the research, the researcher chose the primary of the national unit - Baghdad Governorate, which is affiliated to the Directorate of Education in the first Rusafa to apply his experience, and was chosen intentionally, and in a random manner he chose the division (A) with a number of students (38) to represent the experimental group that studied reading using the strategy (discipleship cognitive), and Division (B) with a number of students (37) students represented the control group that studied reading in the traditional way.

The researcher adopted the experimental design with partial control for the two research groups, and was rewarded among the students of the study groups (experimental and controlling) in a number of variables.

The way of the arbitrators by using the Pearson equation, the difficulty factor, the strength of the distinction, and the effectiveness of the wrong alternatives for each of its paragraphs were calculated, and it was found that there is a statistically significant difference between the average achievement of the students of the two groups for the benefit of the experimental group students who were taught in the way of (apprenticeship) Customary), and in light of the results of the study, the researcher recommended the necessity of adopting the strategy of (cognitive discipleship) in teaching reading material in the fifth grade of primary school.

To complete this study, the researcher suggested conducting other studies, on samples from both sexes, in different classes, various schools, other academic stages, and different topics.
