Abstract EN

The current study aimed at predicting the psychological and social problems in light of exposure to stressful events, resulted from Israeli violations among Palestinian youth in Al Aghwar.

The sample of the study consisted of (246) youth.

The study used a list of stressful events resulted from Israeli violations, a measure of psychological and social problems, focus groups, and a personal interview.

The study revealed that (61.64%) of the youth were exposed to stressful events.

The results also found an increase in the suffering from psychological and social problems, namely: aggression, fear, psychosomatic symptoms, depression, trauma, social introversion, alienation, normlessness, anxiety, pessimism.

The results found that the exposure to stressful events resulting from Israeli violations predicts of psychological and social problems.

It also found that there are statistically significant differences in the total score of the list of stressful events, the overall degree and dimensions of the scale of psychological and social problems attributed to the gender in favor of males, and the location of housing in favor of the proximity.

The results of the interviews and focus groups confirmed these results.
