SummaryThe aim of the current research is to know the environmental responsibility in the biological textbooks for the preparatory Stage.

To get this target, the researchers have been prepared a (research tool) a Standard of environmental responsibility.

The researchers prepared a standard for environmental responsibility after reviewing the previous literature related to environmental science, its problems, elements, components and everything related to it at the local and global level, and reviewing previous studies that had interest in the field of environmental education, environmental culture and environmental awareness, and submitting an open questionnaire to a group of arbitrators specialized in teaching methods (Biology, chemistry, and general sciences), Biology (Environment and Pollution), supervisors and teachers of biology subject) and to be guided by their observations and opinions.

In its final form, the standard is composed of (8) main areas, namely (environmental responsibility towards energy, responsibility towards natural resources, environmental responsibility towards health, environmental responsibility towards environmental balance, environmental responsibility towards environmental pollution, environmental responsibility towards family and society, environmental responsibility in Islam.

And after confirming the validity of the analysis and extracting the reliability of the analysis in two ways, namely the researcher's method and himself and the method of external analysts, the values of the reliability coefficient by the Holsti equation reached (0.90% ), (0.84% ), (0.86% ) and (0.85% ).

) Respectively, the biology textbooks for the preparatory stage scheduled for the academic year (2019-2020 AD) were analyzed, as the analysis sample reached (657) pages, and the researchers adopted the implicit idea and the explicit idea as the unit of analysis, and also adopted the registration and repetition units as units for counting.

Based on the above, the researchers recommend the following: 1- Enriching those preparatory school books with activities, situations, questions and puzzles to stimulate the learner's environmental responsibility2- Holding workshops, seminars and enrichment training programs for biology teachers in the preparatory stage on environmental problems and threats and the need to raise the level of responsibility for their studentsThe researchers also suggest the following: - 1- Conducting studies to find out the extent to which elementary school textbooks include the dimensions of environmental responsibility.2- Conducting similar studies at the level of Iraqi universities courses
