Abstract EN

The paper aims at introducing an Arabic translation of a letter entitled “A letter to a young poet”.

The letter is a literary and critical one written by the English novelist Virginia Woolf in 1931 as a reply to a letter she received from a young English poet.

In the letter, Woolf introduces her critical stand concerning the modernist poetry.

She cites some models of modernist poems and holds a contrast between modernist poets and their prominent poets of the past.

However, this translation is of great value as it is the first Arabic translation of the letter.

It shows the critical perspective of the modernist poetry by a pioneer modernist and feminist.

The translation also introduces a pilot model of modern literary letters to the Arab readers.
