This article attempts to provide an analytical description of the concept of popular reference, and of this concept around which many conceptual discussions have taken place, because it is complex in its implications on the one hand, and its social importance on the other as a compass for the behavior of individuals, and we will try to clarify the aspects of convergence and contradiction in different concepts, while trying to present the various social and cultural elements that allow us to understand this concept well, especially due to the lack of detailed literature, within the limits of our research knowledge.
