The modern Khalili theory is a paradigm shift in modern Arab linguistics, and a new reading of the Arab heritage.

In this theory, Abd al-Rahman al-Hajj Salih sought to resurrect the old by reviving the acquired, an effort that is an extension of the old grammatical theory.

The reason for its name al-Khaliliyyah is due to the grammatical scholar Khalil bin Ahmad al-Farahidi, who was credited with establishing this theory, and Abd al-Rahman al-Hajj Salih has attached great importance in his modern theory to improving the Arabic linguistic proposition and directing it according to what suits language and thought on the one hand, and keeping pace with linguistic concepts on the one hand a second.
