This research seeks to identify the reality and nature of political blackmail and its dangerous indicators among the spectrums of Iraqi society on the one hand and between the political blocs and the responsible parties and elites in the state on the other hand under the current circumstances.

Moreover, blackmail in general and political blackmail in particular are a disturbing term that brings with it a great deal of negative feelings, as it is a living embodiment of one of the lowest qualities that a person can have, when he exploits his strength in exchange for the weakness of another human being, whether this weakness is temporary or permanent.In addition to this, the topic of blackmail is one of the most prominent exotic phenomena on our society, not to mention that the importance of presenting this research lies in the importance of the topic itself and its implications for the individual and society, which seemed to occupy a large space in the Iraqi, Arab and international media, and the research concluded that the phenomenon of basic blackmail is a social affair.
