Abstract EN

We present the first part of our translation of the book "Un ésclave norvégien à Alger (1769-1772)" from the French language written by the captive Norwegian Nils Moss, which considered as one of the few foreign sources of Algerian history during the Ottoman era.

Noting that we have retained the order of the chapters and elements of the book as they appeared in the original book.

The book is rich in valuable historical information that cannot be found in other sources.

In addition, the book is rich of various information about the regency of Algiers in the eighteenth century, it also tells us about the war between Algeria and Denmark which took place in 1770, as well as the Algerian-Danish relationship.
