This study deals with the leadership Patterns of school principals in the secondary public schools in Ajloun and their effect on teacher behavior according their point of view.
The sample of the study consisted of 221 teachers.
The descriptive approach was used for the purposes of this study.
The researcher prepared a questionnaire consists of (36) paragraphs divided into two categories: leadership Patterns consists of (30) paragraph and behavior of teachers and consists (6) The validity of the tool and its stability were applied to the sample and the results of the study showed that the most common patterns are the democratic pattern followed by the autocratic and finally the slack or lenient.
The results showed that there is a statistically significant effect the leadership pattern on the behavior of teachers.
The school teachers, who are run by managers of the autocratic type, tend to invent the reasons for absenteeism and the desire to move from school.
After the autocratic pattern the languishing pattern and then the democratic results showed that there was no effect of the gender, experience and degree of variables on the leadership style of the teachers ’behavior.
The researcher concluded from these results that school principals have to reconsider the leadership style used in some schools and try to improve it in order to proceed in the educational process towards the best by adopting the influential leadership style in their teachers with the aim of advancing In their schools, they adopt an effective leadership style that pushes teachers to innovation and creativity, and hold training courses for school principals to sensitize them to the importance of leadership styles and styles, and conduct more studies on leadership styles and its implications for teacher behavior.
