Abstract EN

The present study aimed to determine the extent of adherence to good testing among primary and secondary teachers in government schools in Tulkarm Governorate, Palestine.

For this purpose, a questionnaire consisting of (36) items was applied to measure the extent of teachers' adherence to these standards on a sample of (170) male and female teachers, who were chosen in a stratified random manner according to the gender and educational stage variables.

The results revealed a high level of teachers' commitment to the criteria for building a good test, and the ten most important criteria were in the following order:The degree of clarity of questions and the ease of the test language, the method of distributing grades to appropriate test questions, the diversity in the difficulty of the questions and taking into account individual differences, and the test questions are compatible with what was done explanation, and the conformity of the tests with the description and vocabulary of the course, the test includes questions that distinguish outstanding students, and the test covers various cognitive levels, and is written in a form appropriate for the academic stage of the learner, and the test coincides with the allotted time, and the distribution of exam questions on the scientific subject achieves the comprehensiveness of the test.

On the other hand, the results showed that there are statistically significant differences in the level of teachers' commitment to the criteria of good testing according to the gender variable in favor of female teachers, and according to the variable of the educational stage in favor of the secondary stage.

And the absence of statistically significant differences at this level according to variables: specialization, educational qualification, and years of experience
