Abstract EN

The purpose of the study was to investigate the prediction ability of adaption of future anxiety among Jordanian women after legal divorce, as well as exploring the differences in adaption strategies according to age, educational level, years of marriage, number of children and work status.

Additionally; exploring the variance rate explained by; future anxiety adaption strategies.

The sample of the study consisted of (330) women from family rehabilitation centers in Jordan.

The results indicated that there is a low to high level of adaptation strategies, in addition to a high level of future anxiety, and that there are significant statistical differences for some adaptation strategies attributed the educational level.

The negative strategies explained (19.3%) of the variance in the future anxiety as aggression and self-blame strategies of (16.9%); and the strategy of isolation and withdrawal with (2.4%) of the variance in the future anxiety, while the positive strategies explained (4.4%) of the variance in the future anxiety, such as the cognitive reconstruction strategy with (3%), and the defense means strategy with (1.4%).
