The goal this research is to recognize the impact of teaching mathematics by using brain- based learning strategy on visual spatial intelligence and cognitive motivation of applied fifth grade students.

To achieve this goal, the two tiered experimental approach with the pre-test was adopted.

The research sample consists of (52) female students who were elected from AL-Amal secondary girls school of the general directorate for Baghdad, second Rusafa education.

The samples have been classfied into two groups: the first one is the experimental group that have been teached according to the brain- based learning strategy (26) girls, and the other group is the control that have been teached using the conventional method with (26) girls.

The equivalent of the two groups is perfomed with the following variables: (age, math-remarks for fifth grade –first semester, intelligence and cognitive motivation).

The research requires two tools: the first tool for the visual spatial intelligence test which consists of (24) test items with multiple choices test, and the second tool to measure the cognitive motivation which consists of (40) items with positive and negative test score.

The statistical analysis of the test paragraph and the measurements, were conducted, with the extraction of the sycometerics of each group.

The results show the excellence of the experimental group who tought with brain- based learning strategy in the both the visual spatial intelligence test and the cognitive motivation measure as compared with the control group.
