Abstract EN

The research aims to explore the relationship between the expenditure of local students and students abroad and its impact on some of the macroeconomic activities at the local level and the country where the Iraqi student is studying.

The research covers data covering (3) years.

The importance of this research is that the expenditure of students studying abroad Iraq's gross domestic product and hence the well-being of society as a whole and reduces Iraq's GDP rather than its assumed increase because economic activities in Iraq are disrupted or disrupted and most of the economic activity, is dependent on oil revenues.

Iraqis abroad some of the economic benefits of foreign economies, whether on campus or outside the level.

The research found that external financial assistance is insufficient to meet the needs of the institutions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Iraqi families bear the highest share of the cost of studying abroad and will have a negative impact on the level of well-being of the individual and society alike.

The study recommended the establishment of a feasibility study to establish an Iraqi university city for postgraduate studies for all the rare specialties of foreign teaching staff to make the multiplier works for the local economy, The demand for these competencies on the one hand, and the creation of local jobs to manage this university as well as contribute to the work multiplier investment and spending locally.
