The monetary policy seeks to maintain balance of payments balance.
Therefore, the research aims to identify the monetary policies after 2003 in Iraq and the impact of their monetary instruments and types to address the imbalance in the balance of payments in Iraq.
The research used an analytical descriptive method to review and examine the aspects of the balance of payments and monetary policy adopted since 2003.
Analytical study revealed that Iraqi monetary policy is not independent and its tools are ineffective in dealing with the fundamental imbalances in balance of payments itemsKeywords - Monetary Policies - Balance of Payments - Indirect tools - monetary stability.
