The study aims to highlight the truth about one of the innovative green funding means: "Green Sukuk", that has recently attracted wide interest, thanks to the increased awareness of Islamic funding instruments’ importance on the one hand and the importance of the environment on the other; because their revenues are often allocated to environmentally friendly projects to provide an infrastructure that is appropriate for climate change or clean energy, for environmental development down to achieving sustainable development.

The study concluded that according to several reports, these Sukuk will play a big role in financing renewable energy-based economies or those that commit to reduce carbon emissions; similar to the Indonesian experience, her government has recognized the negative impact of climate change and thus the need for immediate action and consideration of innovative instruments and tools in order to respond effectively and systematically to these changes.
