تعد القراءة أداة أساسية للتعليم وهي ضرورية لتعلم الطفل و نموه و تطوره.
تلعب مكتبات الأطفال و كذلك التربويون دورا مهما في تعزيز ثقافة القراءة.
تتناول هذه الورقة دور خدمات مكتبة المطالعة العمومية بقصر الثقافة مفدي زكريا للأطفال و التأثيرات المحتملة لهذه الخدمات.
كما تفحص أنواع خبرات التعلم المناسبة طبيعيا لخدمات المكتبة المطالعة العمومية، وهي نفسها تلك المستخدمة في التعليم و التعلم داخل و خارج المدرسة.
النتيجة الرئيسية المتوصل إليه يمكن تلخيصها في الدور الذي تلعبه المكتبة المطالعة العمومية كمؤسسة شبه وحيدة موجهة للأطفال الذين لم يتم الوصول إليهم عبر البرامج التعليمية التقليدية المختلفة.
Abstract EN
Reading is a basic tool for education and is necessary for child’s learning; growth and development.
Children libraries and librarians play an important role in promoting reading culture.
This paper examines the role of services of the Public reading library, at the Palace of Culture Moufdi Zakaria, to young children and the possible effects of those services.
It also examines the types of learning experiences naturally suited to public reading library services, which are those, used in the area of literacy, the crucial foundation for the learning that takes place both in and out of school.
The main result of the study is that a public reading library is often the only agency poised to reach those children not being reached by various educational programs.

La lecture est un outil fondamental de l’education et est necessaire a l’apprentissage, a la croissance et au developpement de l’enfant.
Les bibliotheques pour enfants et les bibliothecaires jouent un role important dans la promotion de la culture de la lecture.
Cet article examine le role des services de la bibliotheque de lecture publique, au Palais de la Culture Moufdi Zakaria, aupres des jeunes enfants et les effets possibles de ces services.
Il examine egalement les types d’experiences d’apprentissage qui conviennent naturellement aux services de la bibliotheque de lecture publique, qui sont ceux, utilises dans le domaine de l’alphabetisation, la base cruciale pour l’apprentissage qui a lieu a la fois dans et hors de l’ecole.
Le principal resultat de l’etude est qu’une bibliotheque de lecture publique est souvent la seule agence capable d’atteindre les enfants qui ne sont pas atteints par les divers programmes educatifs.
