Abstract EN

Homelands and societies need concerted efforts in times of crisis of all kinds.

In this research, we reviewed the role of crises in activating the psychological energies of voluntary works, in order to revive societies and homelands and rebuild or provide the required support in all areas affected by the damage, whether material, moral or psychological.

Particularly, we addressed the Covid 19 crisis that swept all the countries, including Lebanon, and its negative effects that coincided with the deteriorating economic situation.

The research also addressed the topic of volunteering and its importance and positive effects on the level of psychological health of volunteer individuals, and the prominent and influential role of crises in mobilizing social solidarity among community members to provide assistance and possible support voluntarily and without compensation.

This is what we have seen in Lebanon, from the combined efforts of volunteers in many fields, especially on the psychological level, among the individuals and volunteers in the initiative «Nehna Haddak», which is our research model.

The research concluded that although pressures and crises impose misery and destitution among community members and collapse at the level of some facilities and areas, they also have a prominent and effective role in stimulating endeavors and activating the positive psychological energy in individuals in order to increase their motivation to provide services and volunteer work that would rebuild again all what had been demolished.
