Genetic counseling is a new issue that is not covered by the Iraqi legislation, and in order to set a legal regulation for it, the contract that regulates the relationship between the genetic counselor and the applicant for genetic counseling must be studied and its type, and the obligations of the two parties must be studied.

Especially because it is considered a difficult contract to define due to the nature of genetic counseling.This study comes to demonstrate the importance of the number of genetic counseling contracts, explaining what it is, and the position of comparative legislation on it (French and Egyptian) compared to the Iraqi legislation, as it determined the nature of this contract and its parties and aspects of the responsibility entrusted to both parties (the genetic counselor and the applicant for advice), whether professional, technical or legal, As well as their obligations.
