Abstract EN

This research aims to determine whether there is a link between inflation and economic growth in Libya.

In the event that it exists, it represents a potential roadblock to Libya’s economic growth in the short and long term.

For the period 1980- 2018, an economic approach was used to estimate the relationship between inflation and growth in the Libyan economy.

The "Johansson" co-integration method was used to examine at the possibility of a long-term relationship.

"The Granger causality » has been tested to ensure the existence of a unidirectional or bidirectional relationship between the study variables, and finally, the long-term relationship has been estimated using the parameter " D," which is a condition for measuring the level of the Libyan economy's inflation threshold .

The test results showed that there is no relation between the inflation rate and the long-, and short-term economic growth rate, as well as the no influence on the economic growth rates in Libya at different inflation thresholds of developing and developed countries
