Abstract EN

Aims: The study aimed to analyze the emotions of thalassemia children regarding acceptance of body image, to identify the differences between drawings of children with thalassemia and normal children, and to identify the psychological characteristics of a child with thalassemia.

Sample: The study was applied on a sample of 60 children divided into 30 children with thalassemia and 30 children of normal children of the age group (9-12) years.

The researcher applied the Body Image Acceptance Scale- and a list of drawings analysis from her preparation.

Results: The Study Found that Statistical differences on the scale of body image acceptance between children with Thalassemia and normal children at a level of 0.01 in the direction of normal children.

Also, there are differences in children's drawings for the elements of the analysis (the size of the elements- details of the body- the size of the head- the presence of hair- the trunk- the neck- the width of the shoulder- the parity of the arms- the legs- the symmetry of the limbs- the shape of the clothes (general appearance) function at the level 0.01 in The trend of normal children, while there are significant differences at the deletion component at the level of 0.01 in the direction of children with thalassemia.

The results of the study also showed some cases of normal children and children with thalassemia and the existence of differences in body image fees between normal children and children with thalassemia, as the lack of acceptance of the body image of children with thalassemia than normal children was reflected by deleting the shoulder- the thinnest arms and legs- and the small size of the body.
