The topic area of that’s paper dealing with nature of relation between Russia and Kurdistan region in Iraq, The Kurdistan region of Iraq is one of the important areas that Russia sought to open up strategically, and behind it many of the objectives, especially the political objectives as Russia tries to compete with the United States presence in the Middle East by strengthening its relationship with the political leadership in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, but the economic objectives are to strengthen Russian investments in the region, especially oil, while security objectives were one of the most important objectives of Russian strategic deal with the region because of the extension of the influence of terrorist movements in the Middle East on the southern border of Russia As for the Russian dealings with the referendum of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, it declared its respect for the aspirations of the Kurdish people, but at the same time stressed its respect for the dignity, and integrity of Iraq, it declared that Russia has remained neutral on the contentious issues between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq and called for dialogue to preserve its interests.
