Abstract EN

This study aims to highlight the role of financial technology as a mechanism to enhance the performance of the Algerian banking sector, by identifying the drivers and challenges of digital financial technologies in this sector.

The study revealed that the banking sector performance is weak regarding the expansion of financial inclusion in Algeria.

This represents a major motive for the adoption of financial technology.

But this depends on the success of overcoming several obstacles.

The study recommends the need to benefit from the experiences of Arab countries to establish regulatory laboratories involved in testing digital services, encouraging electronic payment and developing a legal framework that would allow for a partnership between financial technology companies and Algerian banks.
