Our study came to shed light on an important aspect of heat, which is thermal efficiency and its effects on the cultivation of the sesame and yellow corn crops in Hilla district, the center of Babel Governorate, as they are important food and industrial crops.

Heat and its actual efficiency is one of the most specific climatic factors for growing and producing crops through its direct effect on the crop and indirect on other climate elements that in turn constitute the determinants of agricultural production.

During the growth stages, the various physiological processes that take place within the crop, as well as their role in determining the locations of their concentration and spread.

The results of the research showed the compatibility and compatibility between the thermal limits values of the sesame and yellow corn crops in the germination stage, the period of cultivation and until the harvest, with the available thermal potentials in the study area for the period (1985-2015).

The research also found that the actual accumulated thermal efficiency of sesame during the month of Nisan reached (183.6) ° C, then it rose to (313.2) ° C and (351.5) ° C during the months of June and July respectively, and the harvest of sesame during the germination stage required (183.6) It rises to (582.4) m ° during the growth stage, and to (664.7) ° during the flowering stage, while it needs (344.6) ° during the maturity stage.

While the yellow corn crop requires the actual accumulated calorific value (281.8) ° C in the month of July and then gradually decreases until it reaches (142.3) ° C in the month of October, and the yellow corn crop needs (281.8) ° C during the germination stage and to (274.8 °C) during the growth stage, while during the fruit set stage it requires (357) ° C, while it needs (142.3) ° C during the ripening stage.
