Abstract EN

This study examines the geography and characteristics of Saudi tourism mobility.

It analyzes the sociological dimensions of this mobility and the characteristics of its practitioners.

With an analysis of the relationship between tourism and development and the opportunities and challenges it presents.This research focuses on the case study of the Eastern Region.Through adoption official statistics and results of field study applied to them.And deals with the dimensions of tourism mobility in its macrosociological dimension in Saudi Arabia.The results showed that the general characteristics of the Saudi tourist image are related to male youth, with higher education levels, and working in the education sector.

Which confirms the expansion of the general trends of tourism and culture associated Toward the middle class and to the phenomenon of mass tourism.

Saudi tourism maps show a variety of destinations, although the Saudi tourist practices a geographical / cultural movement throughout the year in the Gulf, Islamic and Arab regions.The contribution of tourism in development is unfulfilled compared to the Kingdom's cultural and environmental reserves, which enable it to be one of the major tourist destinations in the world
