A field experiment was carried out in the experimental field of the Department of Soil Sciences and Water Resources - College of Agriculture / University of Wasit on silty sand soil, in order to study the effect of potassium levels, methods and partition of its addition on the growth and yield of maize (Zea mays L.
) var.

The experiment factors included three levels of potassium sulfate (0, 100 and 200 kg K ha-1), denoted by K0, K1, K2, and three methods of applications (conventional, spray, and capsule) and denoted by T, C, F, beside the potassium fertilizer was divided into two batches B1, and B2.
The experiment was carried out according to RCBD design with three replications.
The results showed that the treatment K2FB2 gave the highest values and did not significantly differ from other methods of addition in both plant height, weight of 500 grains and dry matter yield, and differed significantly in leaf area, which amounted to 164.10 cm, 173.37 gm, 8.62 tons ha-1 and 5919 cm2, respectively.
While the combination K2TB2 achieved a significant superiority in the number of grains per ear, as it was 568.70 grains.
ear-1, as for the grain yield, we did not find significant differences in the three way interaction of potassium levels, methods of addition, and the batches of potassium fertilizer.
Also, the addition of potassium fertilization levels increased the orption of nutrients (N, P, K), especially when the level K2 was added, and no significant differences were recorded between the three methods of addition.
The spray addition method (F) at two batches (B2), gave the highest values of NPK 2.78, 0.63, and 1.56 gm.
