Abstract EN

The current study aimed at identifying the level of possessing palestinian teacher’s professional skills for student teachers majoring in social studies teaching at faculty of education at al-Aqsa university.

to achieve the study objectives, the researcher used the descriptive approach through designing a questionnaire including 21 items distributed into three domains which are knowledge, professional skill and professional attitudes and values.

then, a sample of 48 student teachers majoring in social studies were assessed by eight educational supervisors who followed them up.

the statistical processing of the data showed that the student teachers’ possession level of the professional skills in the three domains ; knowledge, professional skill and professional attitudes and values is 72.97%, 71.81%, 70.05% respectively, with an overall average of 71.97%.

also, it was found that there is a complementary relationship between the three professional skills domains; knowledge and attitudes have a positive effect on the professional skills, and also both of knowledge and professional attitudes affect each other positively.
