This study aims to contribute to the scientific debate that has been raised over two decades ago and revolves around whether it is possible to study social networking websites using the theories that have studied traditional media.

For this purpose, the researcher has chosen the “Uses and Gratifications” theory, trying to discover what distinguishes the aforementioned theory from previous ones in the study of the media, and figure out the motivations that prompt users to use different social websites and the gratifications achieved from this use.
