The article aims to uncover the phenomenon of intertextuality in the Nigerian Arabic novel taking Hamid Mahmud Al-Hijri work as a case study in order to grasp the novelist's method through interacting with other texts.

That is, it suggests a theoretical framework to reach the practical side via studying samples from his work.

The author draws his ideas and perceptions from various religious, literary, social and cultural sources that bring about the effectiveness of textual overlap in the formation of his creative approach.

The importance of the research is to highlight the role of the Nigerian writer in the field of fiction and show his ability to draw from other texts ruminating, absorbing, or modifying to create his art which led to enriching the novel's form and content.

So, what is the concept of intertextuality, what is its role in enriching the Nigerian Arabic novel, what is Hamid Mahmud Al-Hijri's method of invoking the absent texts in his novel, how did the text overlap transmit its technical message to the recipient, what are the sources of overlapping texts in the text studied, to what extent does intertextuality combine the past and present of literary productions? Descriptive method, then, is employed to study and clarify the phenomenon of intertextuality in the novel understudy.
