Abstract EN

The research is historical study about the political refugees and exiles and political embassies, which they came to Cairo during the period of Sultan Al-Ashraf Qāytibāy (872-901 H/ 1468-1496 A.D), and policy of the sultan in dealing with these groups.

Also, the political and diplomatic connotations of these groups, as well as how the Sultanate of Mamluk benefited from them.

The study clarified the role of Sultan Qāytibāy and his desire to maintain the internal and external security of the Mamluk Sultanate, and to consolidate external relations with neighboring powers through his successful dealing of refugees and diplomatic embassies.

The study demonstrated the role of Qāytibāy's diplomacy in resolving political and military crises, and financially and diplomatically benefiting from his policy of peaceful openness with neighboring powers.

Finally, the study illustrates Qāytibāy's policy in dealing with these groups, and its role in exploring how to manage Mamluk authority from external dangers during times of crisis.
