The study aimed to identify the most important implications of social media rumors (WhatsApp as a model) and how to treat them.

This study adopted the descriptive analytical approach, this study used the questionnaire tool to collect data, which was applied to a random sample of (210) students from the community college at Jazan University and they use WhatsApp.

One of the most important findings of the study is that most of the effects of social media rumors (WhatsApp as a model according to the opinions of the sample) is its negative impact on social relations, its reversal of facts, and the dissemination of wrong ideas, the disintegration of society, the denigration of opponents, and helps chaos, unrest and rebellion.

The least effects of social media rumors (WhatsApp as a model according to the opinions of the sample) represented in the country's lack of progress in the economic field, lack of controlling political orientation, and questioning the constants of society, The biggest challenges facing limiting the spread of rumors on social media, the speed of their spread, is due to the ease of using WhatsApp, and the lack of awareness of the consequences of contributing to spreading rumors.

The most important solutions to face these rumors are not republishing these rumors, and quick response with the correct information, and only receive News from its source, and therefore the study recommended that the relevant authorities should tighten control on social media and take all deterrent measures to spread rumors, and increase transparency.
