Abstract EN

The purpose of the study is to introduce Open access and its contribution in improving the ranking of Algerian universities according the webometrics classification.

After addressing the topic in its two sides: theoretical and applied, in which we used the descriptive approach.

The results concluded that the Algerian universities should invest the activity index through adopting the strategy of open access, one of the most important recommendations of the study is therefore to enrich the sites with the results of scientific researches which could be achieved only through the support of sites with e-journals and digital repositories, and making all its scientific activities available in its sites.
