Abstract EN

In this study, aims at highlighting the economic role played by the Algerian agriculture sector and its contribution to the trade balance.

the research was divided into three main axes.

in this context, we discussed the agricultural sector in Algeria, the importance and importance of this sector and the most important agricultural policies and plans adopted by the Algerian government, and in the second axis it will be focus on the reality of the balance of trade in Algeria, to move in the last axis to highlight the agricultural exports as an alternative to the oil sector in Algeria and its contribution to the total exports and thus in the balance of trade, to the agricultural trade balance of Algeria.

the study found that the values of agricultural exports fluctuated during the study years and constituted weak percentages of the total values of exports, but the values of the agricultural trade balance was negative for all years of study, that is reflected negatively on the values of trade balance.
