Abstract EN

This study aims to highlight the reality and prospects of personal insurance operations after the passage of law 06-04, amended and complementary to order 95-07 on insurance.

which emphasized the need to separate personal insurance and property insurance activity from 2010.

the researcher used the descriptive method to present the theoretical aspect and the analytical method was used to present the results achieved regarding the status of the insurance market for people in Algeria during the study period between 2011 and 2019.

the study concluded that the pernonals' insurance branch in Algeria provides a diverse basket of insurance products that can cover the various risks that may affect the individual, the study also found that despite the economic and social importance of insurance for persons, and despite the efforts made to develop the insurance sector in Algeria in general and the branch of insurance for persons in particular, through successive legal reforms, however, it did not achieve the desired results, and this is due to several reasons, the most important of which is the religious and cultural factor based on the idea of the prohibition of insurance, in addition to the limited entry of individuals.
