Abstract EN

This article aims to introduce Obai ben Ka’ab (may Allah bless him), one of the greatest companions of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), the most ascetic worshiper, the best Qur’an reader, who was ordered by Allah to recite the Holy Qur’an to the Prophet.

Obai was very knowledgeable of companions’ jurisprudence after the Prophet’s death.

The study employs the inductive, analytic and comparative approaches in what Obai agrees or disagrees with other companions, or other Imams of the well- known four doctrines.

The study concludes with a number of findings, the most important of which are: Obai ben Ka’ab was one of the best jurist companions.

He is also considered their Imam and reference.

The companions were consulting him in many issues such as provisions of prayer, Tatw’, Witr and Qunout prayers and so forth.
