Abstract EN

This article aims to get to know the scientific status Imam Ibn Kathir enjoys, and his relationship with his Sheikh Ibn Taymyyah, and the effect of this on Ibn Kathir, clarifying the different aspects of this influence in general, and in interpreting the verses of provisions in particular.

The study also sheds some light on three aspects: i) the general approach in interpretation, ii) the foundational principles on which the interpretation is based, and iii) methods of preferring when opinions are multiplied.
